A while back my wife and I bought a nice house in a beautiful mountain town--for $17,500. You can read that story (and see a bigger photo of the house) here: Anaconda, Montana. There are still nice towns with good homes under $50,000, but now we also include affordable housing at higher prices and great info on investing in real estate.

Housing in Canada - February 3, 2012 - The Canadian real estate market may be busy in the near future, according to a recent report on Realty Times:

Canada's rate of homeownership is expected to increase and the future for condominiums looks bright according to an updated analysis of future Canadian housing demand. By 2036, there will be more one-person households in Canada than any other category, due to the aging of the baby boomer generation. But the country is counting on immigration to be the main driver of household growth in the next 20 years, says a recent report from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. (CMHC).

The report also noted that international migration makes up two-thirds of the population growth in Canada.
